Local Residents Mobilize to Aid Migrants

Bopp and Rural & Migrant Ministry were clearly not factored in by Dutchess and other counties that have filed lawsuits to stop New York City from sending, to hotels within their boundaries, some of the more than 80,000 migrants seeking asylum who have overwhelmed New York City’s shelter system. Community activists have shifted their focus to humanitarian efforts in Newburgh after the arrival of dozens of migrants from New York City.
